1 Overview
If you are an Early Years and Childcare employer, you can now advertise your staff vacancies through various platforms. These include:
- the WSCC partnership job page
- the Department for Work and Pensions Find a Job platform
- Jobcentre Plus.
Jobcentre Plus are also able to offer further support with recruitment.
2 Advertise job vacancies on the WSCC partnership job page
To support recruitment, all Early Years and Childcare and out of school providers can advertise their job vacancies on the West Sussex County Council (WSCC) partnership job page.
This is a free service, which is reviewed annually. All vacancies must be based in West Sussex.
How to sign up
- Request a partnership account on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) by emailing HRRecruitment@westsussex.gov.uk. Include your setting name, recruiting managers name and email.
- Create your job advertisement in a Word document format using the Advertise your job guidance below. It is not recommended to write your job advertisement directly into ATS.
- Once you have received your ATS login details and guidance, the account can be used to advertise current and future roles.
Advertising a job on ATS
- Log onto ATS and copy and paste the information from your Word document into the job template and select ‘start approval chain’.
- Once the job advertisement is approved, you will receive notifications by email and in your messages on ATS.
- Log onto ATS to post your vacancy, this is a three step process. Your job will then be live until it reaches the closing date, or you manually close it.
You can also advertise your vacancy on West Sussex Early Years and Childcare Training Facebook page.
Send a link to your website, or Facebook page if the job is advertised there, and we can share it. You can also send a brief description of the vacancy and how to apply. Email this to: early.years.training@westsussex.gov.uk.
3 Advertise job vacancies on the Department for Work and Pensions platform
The Department for Education (DfE) launched the Early Years recruitment campaign on Friday 2 February 2024.
The campaign aims to promote Early Years and childcare careers by highlighting the huge difference Early Years professionals make to young children and how rewarding working in the sector can be. The campaign has its own dedicated website that directs potential applicants to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Find a job platform.
Early Years and childcare providers can advertise job vacancies on the platform. Use the DWP Find a job instructions below to create an employer account and post job vacancies on the platform.
It is important to use the term ‘early years’ in the title of job adverts and select ‘Education jobs’ for the job category when you post your vacancy.
