Tree Preservation Orders

Find out what you need to know before doing any work on a tree.

Before carrying out work, check with your district or borough council's planning department or tree officer to find out whether the tree is:

  • subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO)
  • in a conservation area.

Find out more about TPOs and tree protection in conservation areas onĀ GOV.UK.
