The Reading Doctor is an independent alternative provider of education (IAP) and part of West Sussex County Council's Dynamic Purchasing System. We provide bespoke, one-to-one literacy interventions for children and young people who struggle with reading, writing, and communication. All sessions are delivered by qualified teachers (Reading Doctors), who are enhanced DBS checked, trained in advanced safeguarding, and experienced in supporting pupils with SEND.
What we do
- Provide personalised, one-to-one reading interventions in dedicated Reading Rooms or school settings
- Support children and young people aged 4–16 with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, speech and language needs, and other barriers to learning
- Deliver diagnostic assessments to identify strengths, barriers, and next steps in literacy development
- Create tailored learning pathways linked to individual needs, often reflecting EHCP outcomes. Offer Functional Skills English courses and qualifications where appropriate
- Work closely with parents, carers, and schools to ensure joined-up support. Cost is £50.00 per hour
