About
This organisation is part of West Sussex County Council's Short Breaks offer. Find out more about Short Breaks.
Springboard provides SEND services for children and young people aged 0-30 years in West Sussex. Sessions run after school, at evenings and weekends during term time and various full days throughout school holidays. We offer a range of activities from in-house sessions focusing on sensory play, baking and arts and crafts to sessions in the local community where we put much needed life skills into practice from using public transport, money handling and ordering food. We believe that our sessions encourage independence, social interaction and equal opportunities.
What we do
- 0-8s - Springboard Stay and Play centre offers SEND specific sessions. These are book able via out website at a concession booking price. These sessions are at a reduced capacity and are a chance for the parent carer to share experiences and make friends.
- 6-12s - Play and activities for disabled children ages 6 to 12. Term time Saturday club and school holiday scheme in Horsham, Crawley and Worthing.
- 12-18s - Social activities for disabled young people ages 12 to 18. Term time weekday evenings and school holiday scheme in Horsham, Crawley and Worthing.
- 16-30 - The stepping stones pathway supports young people with their next steps. Whether that’s learning skills around volunteering and employability, gaining practical work experience, key life skills or cooking, we have a course to fit. We can coach you through CPD courses and have an inclusive weekly social hub, open to all age 16-30 with SEND.
- Our centre in Horsham is open 10 to 5 Monday to Friday term time. School holiday opening times may vary. Please see our website to book your families space. Book Friday at 11:15 for our free Warm Welcome.

Our users say
Every year I have something that changes my life. Last year it was my walking group and this year it's definitely been Springboard. It gives me structure and certainty which is really important to me'.
'There should be more people here when they are not at school. This is a fun place to come, and to make friends'.
'Springboard is a really special place that provides a space for safety, learning and play for my child. It has become one of his favourite places to go and I think that is largely thanks to the staff who are so welcoming and couldn't be more helpful.
