Electric Storm Youth (ESY) is a youth work charity based in Lancing, dedicated to helping young people. We provide a wide range of free youth services for young people aged 11-18. All of our services and activities are planned in partnership with our youth forum. This group of young people helps us to make sure we are meeting the needs of local young people and that our work is relevant to them.

Use our contact form (Electric Storm Youth website) for more information.

What we do

  • Saturday activities: These are run during term time on a Saturday. Activities include bowling, games, craft sessions, trips and pizza parties. If you wish to attend these sessions, please use our contact form to register. All are welcome.
  • LGBT+ and Allies Social Group: This group is a safe space where LGBT+ young people and allies can come together in a safe and inclusive environment to relax and socialise. For details of this session, please use our contact form and we'll get back to you.
  • We offer an ESY counselling service, drop-in mental health sessions at The Sir Robert Woodard Academy, group well-being sessions and online workshops for young people and parents/carers on improving and supporting mental health.
  • In partnership with Sir Robert Woodard Academy, we run weekly young carers support. Two members of the ESY team meet with young carers to provide a supportive environment and on a confidential, one-to-one basis, to discuss anything that is troubling them.
  • Our team of youth workers undertake detached youth work sessions at the skatepark and other areas in Lancing/Sompting. We're there to support and listen to any young people who are worried, want to talk, or just need to warm up with a hot drink.

Our users say

ESY doesn't judge. It offers a distraction to people who have a lot of stuff going on. It breaks stereotypes. It's there for young people through thick and thin and helps kids discover new ways to express their feelings and make new friends.
