We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping and supporting young people in Lancing, Sompting and surrounding areas, working to improve their personal and social development, teaching them new skills and improving the quality of their lives. We encourage young people to embrace the idea that it is ‘OK not to be OK’ and we have a range of mental , emotional health and social support available.
What we do
- We run school holiday activities and term time after school Youth Groups where our Youth Team oversee games, chat, creative art, socialising and refreshments.
- Our weekly Youth Forum discuss local and national topics led by them as well as helping us plan our services.
- Our youth workers undertake street based youth work at the skate park, local parks and other areas in Lancing and Sompting either in our van or on bikes.
- In partnership with local schools, we meet weekly with young carers to provide a supportive environment. We also facilitate mental health support either through our team or our external specialist counsellors.
- We run a social group for LGBT+ and allies, where young people can come together in a safe and inclusive environment to relax and socialise.

Our users say
I cannot believe you have managed to run so many fantastic activities. Each activity has been so different to the next. No other organisation offers as much as ESY. Thank you so much'
'He absolutely loves both Youth Forum and Bolt Hole and he does a little jog down the road on a Thursday evening as he is so keen to get there. The sessions with Billy have also been great for him and I really appreciate it’
'I wouldn't have got through high school without ESY'
'In some way I don’t want to tell people about ESY as I love the different group of people I get to connect with. If I invite my friends it all becomes one. I love that I have a different group of people to hang out with. We talk about different stuff and everyone is so friendly'.
