Post-16 Transport Policy Statement
The Post-16 Transport Policy Statement is for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 16 to 25 years, including:
- young people aged 16 to 18 in further education (also known as sixth form age)
- young adult learners aged 19 to 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan who are in further education.

Travel by train
Disabled Person's Railcard
If you are disabled or have a progressive medical condition you may be able to get a Disabled Person’s Railcard. This gives you cheaper travel on trains.

Support on trains and at stations
Rail companies offer support to people using the trains. You can download a support card so that people know how to help you. You can download easy read guides to buying a ticket, travelling by train and contacting the train companies.

Travel by bus
Disabled Person’s Bus Pass
You may be able to get a free bus pass which will give you free bus travel.

16 to 20 Bus Saver
Young people in West Sussex can get cheaper bus fares until their 21st birthday by buying a 16 to 20 Bus Saver fare or ticket. This will be the same price as the existing child rate from the relevant bus operator.
Just ask the bus driver or purchase the fare in the operator apps. Before travelling, make sure to bring a valid proof of age as bus operators may ask for it.
