What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship lets you earn while you learn. You'll have a paid job and train for a specific role.
There are hundreds of apprenticeship types available. You can apply if you're aged 16 or over and have finished secondary school.
As an apprentice, you'll:
- earn a salary
- get paid holidays
- receive training
- gain qualifications
- learn job-specific skills
- improve your employment and earning prospects
You can still apply if you have a degree. The apprenticeship must be at a higher level or in a different subject.
If you have a learning disability, you may be able to study English or Maths functional skills at Entry Level 3 instead of the usual level. Ask your training provider about this.
