The West Sussex Economic Collaboration report was agreed by the leaders of the County Council and district and boroughs at the West Sussex Leaders Board of July 2023.
West Sussex joint economy report October 2023 (PDF, 682KB)Metro Dynamics were commissioned by West Sussex local authorities to review how the county, district and borough councils across West Sussex collaborate on economic development, regeneration and growth. Through a programme of stakeholder engagement workshops led by Metro Dynamics, areas for collaboration were discussed to find out how they can be enhanced among local authorities and with stakeholders and partners.
The Report sets out the evidence base, showing the opportunities and challenges that the county's economy faces and identifies four areas to frame future collaboration between the County Council and the district and boroughs:
- boosting productivity growth, investment and innovation
- skills, recruitment and retention
- enhancing natural capital and transitioning to net zero
- improving connectivity.
