We have a diverse range of direct care roles where you can make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

All roles involve working in teams on a rota basis, which are planned in advance (including working evenings, weekends and bank holidays).

Day opportunities

  • You will run a Day Hub within West Sussex that supports people with a wide range of needs. The people we care for are at the heart of what we do and our team provides an essential service for them and their families/carers.

    Within this role you will develop a team that supports people, using a strengths-based approach to develop opportunities for people to be engaged in their local community.

    You will be the lead for your service, building relationships with community partners to identify and develop opportunities to enable people to live a more independent lifestyle.

  • You will be:

  • You will:

    • support the senior team in managing the daily operation of the Hub. This will include, directing staff, completing everyday assessments, liaising with families and people who access the service
    • bring a passion or skill to the team that you can spark some excitement with the people we care for. It can be anything at all from baking, to bird watching, to crafting. We are always looking to inspire people and would love to see what you could bring to the team
    • listen to people and treat all our individuals with respect, kindness and dignity
    • have a strong focus on maintaining those who use the service, independence and having control over their care

  • As part of the senior team you will help to lead staff within Day Opportunities to support people, using a strengths-based approach, to be engaged in their local community. For some people, this could be through a time-limited programme of support to build confidence and help develop skills for independent living, both within the centre and out in the community.

    For other people with more complex needs, a strong focus on maintaining their independence skills and having control over their care.

    You will build relationships with community partners to identify and develop opportunities.

    This role will supervise the day-to-day operations and have lead responsibilities and subject matter expertise for agreed areas of the service. The role will provide formal supervision, advice and support to an identified group of staff.

    You will role model expected work practice and demonstrate the values of the organisation. This will include participating in a range of activities of daily living as required (for example, personal care, mobility and medication).

  • You will provide support to the people we care for using a strengths-based approach to meet their agreed outcomes. For some, this could be through a time-limited programme of support to build confidence and help develop skills for independent living, both within the centre and out in the community.

    For others with more complex needs, a strong focus on maintaining independence skills and having personal control over their care is central.

    You will give daily guidance and support to the support worker team to ensure best practice, meeting people’s outcomes.

Residential services

  • Hours of service is 24/7. Working pattern to include rolling weekend rota.

    In this role you will have overall responsibility, as a Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission, to provide a caring, safe and responsive team to support people who have a range of complex care needs. We pride ourselves on creating a home for all the people we care for, ensuring a fun, loving atmosphere for those we care for and our teams.

    You will take the lead for your service on building relationships with community partners and professionals to identify and develop opportunities to enable people to live a more independent lifestyle. Establishing strong links with commissioners and senior stakeholders to ensure that decision making clearly supports the WSCC Adults vision and local/national priorities. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Hours of service is 24/7. Working pattern to include rolling weekend rota.

    Within this role you will work as part of a team and be accountable for supporting and deputising for the Registered Manager in a service that is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

    You will:

    • ensure the service is well led, effective, responsive, safe and caring and be able to adapt and prepare for the new approach to inspection
    • support the management of the staff, the welfare of the residents, allocated budgets, resources and the fabric of the building
    • promote a high standard of practice in accordance with organisational policy and procedure and national regulation by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
    • lead and actively engage with challenging casework, providing supervision, expertise and guidance
    • practice at a senior level, you will oversee and develop the training needs of the team.
  • Within this role you will:

    • support the manager in running the centre and deputising for them in their absence, ensuring adequate staffing levels and service provision to agreed standards for the service
    • undertake a delegated area of responsibility, for example, kitchen or medication
    • provide support that encourages individuals to do as much for themselves as possible and enable people in all aspects of their personal and physical care in line with individual support plans, whilst maintaining their dignity
    • ensure that a positive culture is maintained to promote high quality care for the people we support.
    • (Grade 3) £22,737 to £23,114 (plus weekend working enhancement available)
    • (Grade 5) £24,294 to £24,702 (plus weekend working enhancement available)
    • (Grade 6) £25,119 to £26,421 (weekend working allowance to be included in addition to this amount)

  • Night support worker 30 hours (Grade 3) £22,737 to £23,114 (plus unsocial hours and weekend working enhancements available).

    Night support worker 30 hours (Grade 5) £24,294 to £24,702 (plus unsocial hours and weekend working enhancement available).

    • Provide personal physical, emotional care and support during a waking night shift.
    • Listen to people and treat all with respect, kindness, and dignity.
    • Undertake light domestic duties as required to ensure cleanliness, comfort and safety for people we support throughout the day, for example, laundry or safely cleaning an area after a person has needed personal care.
    • Complete regular hourly checks around the service, to include checking on people’s wellbeing and on the security of the building.
