Bespoke ceremonies
You might know that independent celebrants will attend any location to perform a commitment ceremony for you. These ceremonies aren't legally binding, so you must also follow the steps on our Marriages and civil partnerships page.
You might not know that we can attend any location too!
This means you can celebrate your marriage or civil partnership with family and friends at home, in a field, a forest, or at the beach - anywhere you gain permission to do so and that passes our assessments.
Our bespoke marriages and civil partnerships enable you to have the most personal experience possible whilst ensuring all legalities are covered.
About the bespoke service
There are two parts to the bespoke service, the:
- legal marriage or civil partnership
- commitment celebration ceremony.
We perform both the legal and celebratory elements for you.
You get registered, trained and experienced registrars who ensure everything is professionally carried out both in line with legal requirements and as you want it.
The legal ceremony
The legal ceremony, including declarations and signing of the schedule. They must take place at either of the following:
- a licensed venue
- dedicated ceremony room.
The legal ceremony generally takes place before your commitment celebration, either on the same day or in the days leading up to it. It is conducted by one of our registrars. Where possible, the same registrar will perform both legal and celebratory ceremonies.
The commitment celebration ceremony
This can be whatever you want it to be, wherever you want it to be, subject to assessments.
Our registrars will perform a commitment celebration ceremony that truly reflects your wants, needs and who you are as a couple.
