Meetings

County Local Committees

In West Sussex there are 71 county councillors elected to represent their local communities. County Local Committees are our approach to involving local residents in decision making.

Scrutiny and Select Committees

Select Committees are the means by which proposed decisions are scrutinised, the effectiveness of existing policy is reviewed, and the budget and performance monitoring of service delivery is undertaken.

Executive decisions

Proposed decisions made by the Cabinet, Cabinet Members and County Local Committees (Executive decisions) will be published here.

Members' newsletter

The Members' Information Service weekly newsletter includes lists of decisions by Cabinet Members and County Local Committees and topics to be discussed at meetings open to the public in the next week.

Webcasts of meetings

The County Council broadcasts live webcasts of all full Council meetings. Other meetings of significant public interest are also webcast. From here you can access any meetings or events which are being webcast and any of their associated documents.

Forward Plan

The Forward Plan contains details of all key decisions to be taken by the County Council, the Cabinet, Cabinet Members, County Local and Area Committees and officers in the following four months.

Sussex Police and Crime Panel

From 22 November 2012 the Sussex Police and Crime Panel will provide checks and balances in relation to the newly elected Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner.
