West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board

Image of a frail elderly ladyWest Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board works very hard to make sure people in the county are safe. Unfortunately many adults are at risk of abuse and neglect. So, protecting those at risk is very important.

The Board works together to enable adults who may be at risk to safeguard themselves and others as far as possible. The Board is keen to raise awareness by the public and by professionals so that abusive situations are recognised before they develop - and when they do, that appropriate help is provided to adults at risk and those who care for them.

On the following pages you can find out what to do if you are worried about someone. You can also learn about the work that is being done.

  • Abuse can be obvious or more subtle. Changes in someone's physical or emotional state or injuries which cannot be explained may be a sign of abuse.

  • Leaflets and other information, including links to the policy and procedures and to the latest annual report of the Board.

  • Your views count - if you are an adult at risk, their representative, or someone working with adults at risk who has been involved in the adult safeguarding process we would like to hear about from you.
