Safeguarding adults at risk

Sadly, many vulnerable adults are at risk of abuse and neglect. So, protecting those at risk is very important to us.

On the following pages you can find out what to do if you are worried about someone. You can also learn about the work we and our partners are involved in.

 

 
  • Abuse can be obvious or more subtle. Changes in someone's physical or emotional state or injuries which cannot be explained may be a sign of abuse.
 
 
 
  • How to contact the West Sussex Adult Safeguarding Unit about general enquiries.
 
  • Leaflets and other information, including links to the new neglect policy and procedures, the latest annual review, and information about the Peer Review undertaken in West Sussex in March 2013.
 
  • Your views count - if you are an adult at risk, their representative, or someone working with adults at risk who has been involved in the adult safeguarding process we would like to hear about from you.
 
  • West Sussex County Council recognises the importance of making sure people working within social care are fully trained in order to do their job properly. Find information about the Adult Safeguarding Board as well as links to templates and policy information.
