Free online journey planners including Traveline enable you to plan your journey by bus, rail, coach, walking or cycling - or any combination of these.
One of the main initiatives outlined in the Council's School Travel Strategy, aims to increase the numbers of pupils walking, cycling and taking the bus to school.
School crossing patrols (Lollipop men and ladies) are employed where the traffic is so busy that artificial gaps are needed to help parents and their children cross roads.
