How we are notified of a school closure
It is the responsiblilty of the Headteacher and Chair of
Governors for deciding to close a school. The school will then let
the County Council - and their local radio station - know it
will be closed. It will also update its own website, if
possible.
Please note:
- We request schools to notify us when they are closed. If
your child’s school isn’t listed please check directly with the
school.
- As soon as a school tells us it will be closed – which is not
usually until the day it is closed during emergencies - we add the
information to the school closures
list immediately.
- This information may not say when a school will reopen unless
the school has provided this information.
