How to submit your suggestions to a scrutiny committee.

Scrutiny committee meetings are held in public. Although welcome to attend and observe, members of the public may not speak at these sessions (unless appearing as a witness, by prior arrangement).

Suggest a topic for scrutiny

The committees are open to suggestions on what they should scrutinise. Careful consideration is given to each proposal, with members first needing to satisfy themselves that scrutiny could have a positive impact before agreeing to add an item to a future agenda.

Bear in mind that scrutiny committees do not examine individual problems or complaints about the County Council. They focus on County Council decisions, services and policies affecting the whole of West Sussex.
