Voluntary transport grants are co-ordinated by the West Sussex Forum for Accessible Transport. A panel meets once a year to consider applications.

Who can apply for a grant
You can apply for a grant if you are a non-profit making organisation which provides accessible transport. For the purposes of this form, accessible transport is considered to be transport that enables people with physical or sensory disabilities, mental health problems, learning disabilities and people living in rural areas with little or no public transport to travel.
Revenue support
Funds are only provided for revenue support. Revenue money is that which is used for on-going costs, for example fuel, insurance, salaries or training. Grants will not be made for capital costs such as the purchase of a vehicle or equipment
Funding and allocation of grants
The panel will give priority to applications from organisations that provide a transport service rather than organisations seeking to purchase transport from another organisation.
Funding must be for use within West Sussex and not, for example, for redistribution as the head office of a national charity.
The panel may award the whole, any or no part of the sum applied for. The panel might suggest alternative support or advice that may not include direct financial aid, for example the use or sharing of another transport provision.
Each grant is awarded under a set of terms and conditions which specify how the funds are to be used. If your organisation’s application is successful you will be required to sign and return a set of terms and conditions before funds are released.
