A website, created for and shaped by young people in West Sussex, has been given a new look to make it easier for users to find the advice they need.

The Your Space website is aimed at 11 to 25 year olds. It had 109,000 hits last year.

The website has been made easier to navigate with the homepage linking to sections on:

• Life
• Health
• Leisure
• Earn
• Learn
• Participate

Peter Evans, West Sussex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children – Start of Life, said: “Your Space has been redesigned to have a cleaner and fresher look and to be easier to find information quickly and efficiently.

“Since it launched eight years ago it has always been designed with young people in mind and they have helped guide the site to the new look.

“I hope we can continue to grow our youth engagement with the site through visiting it and finding the information they need.”

Your Space aims to help young people through a range of issues including:

• Bullying and staying safe online
• Emotional wellbeing and mental health
• Children in Care
• Leaving Care
• Disabilities
• Alcohol and drinking
• Keeping fit and staying healthy
• School options
• Traineeships and apprenticeships
• Careers advice and guidance

There is also a blog space to give young people a place to share their own views and experiences.

Plus every page on the new site includes a 'Connect with us' link so Your Space can continue to be developed by the views of its users.
