The result of Worthing's public consultation about 20mph speed limits will be announced at the next County Local Committee meeting on Wednesday 19 November.

The public meeting takes place at St Paul’s, 55 Chapel Road, Worthing, BN11 1EE.

It starts at 7.00pm.

Residents and businesses in Worthing voted yes or no on whether West Sussex County Council should investigate the introduction of 20mph speed limits in the town any further.

The meeting has been brought forward a month because the level of public interest is so high.

Worthing County Local Committee Chairman Paul High said: “We have scheduled this meeting as early as we could to coincide with all the results being counted and verified.

“We have had thousands of responses from the people of Worthing, so thank you for everyone who took part.

“Once the result is known on November 19, the committee will consider if this proposal should progress any further or not.”

Elsewhere on the agenda, the committee will decide on applications to the Community Initiative Fund.
