What does Worthing Library mean to you?

“The prize draw being run by the Library Service is a unique and exciting opportunity for a small group of people to go ‘behind the scenes...."

Release date: 1 June 2021

The new-look Worthing Library is nearly complete and will be ready to open to customers on Tuesday 22 June, 2021, at 9am.

To celebrate, the Library Service is offering local residents the opportunity to win an exclusive preview tour on Saturday 19 June from 10am to 11.30am.

The tour will allow the lucky group to explore the new facility and take advantage of early bird browsing and borrowing of a vast range of brand-new titles.

Winners will also take home a limited-edition tote bag full of goodies and have the opportunity to receive a very special custom-designed library card.

Entries can be made online at www.westsussex.gov.uk/worthinglibraryprizedraw and all you need to do is fill in a form and tell the Library Service what Worthing Library means to you.

Only one entry per household is allowed and the prize draw closes at 23.59pm on Thursday 10 June 2021.

For those who don’t have access to the internet, or prefer not to enter online, paper entry forms can be picked up in any of the Worthing area libraries, including:

  • Worthing Temporary,
  • Durrington,
  • Findon Valley,
  • Broadwater,
  • Goring libraries.

Duncan Crow, Cabinet Member for Community Support, Fire and Rescue, said: “The prize draw being run by the Library Service is a unique and exciting opportunity for a small group of people to go ‘behind the scenes’ and get a first look at this fabulous, community driven building, which we hope will be used by many residents of Worthing.

“The tour will be given by Worthing Library’s manager, Justin Burns, who will be able to give you a detailed insight into all the work that has happened during the refurbishment and also a bit of history about the building, as Justin has worked in Worthing Library for more than 20 years. It is definitely a fantastic prize for anyone who loves the library, or indeed anyone making their very first visit.”

Alongside the enhanced Library Service, the custom-designed building will also bring together West Sussex County Council Registration Services; Children and Family Services; Find it Out and Youth Emotional Support Services. These services will be opening over the course of the summer.
