A new initiative at Gatwick Airport promoting a series of regional leisure-based itineraries has been welcomed in West Sussex.
Bespoke itineraries have been put together by the Gateway Gatwick group, made up of Gatwick Airport and local tourism partners including the Experience West Sussex Partnership. The new series of guides will be available within Gatwick Airport and on its website.
The guides focus on different themes: active outdoors, castles and stately homes, amazing gardens, English wine, gin and ale, and Instagrammable moments. They cover West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent and Surrey.
West Sussex County Council Leader Louise Goldsmith said: “West Sussex is truly a gem for any visitor because of the amazing range of delightful places and scenery across our beautiful county. We really want to do more to showcase West Sussex to attract visitors to sample all the delights our county has to offer. This initiative with Gatwick Airport and other partners is the perfect way to do just that.
“The itineraries look amazing – and they’re not just for people flying into Gatwick. Have a look yourself online if you’re wanting some inspiration for fun days out and places to visit.”
With the summer holidays now well underway, West Sussex County Council is encouraging residents to explore the wide range of places and attractions in the county in a ‘Summertime Sussex’ campaign. The Experience West Sussex website has ideas and inspiration, local events and hidden gems from all across West Sussex. Explore fun cycle and walking routes or search for activities such as watersports or nature trails.
