Release date: 22 March 2021
Views are being sought on a document which sets out the support available to sixth-form age students travelling to school or college.
Every year West Sussex County Council updates its Post-16 Transport Policy Statement and we are again seeking feedback.
The Policy Statement sets out the travel support and schemes that are available from the County Council, schools, colleges and transport providers. This travel support is for students aged 16 and over or those aged 19 and over who have an Education Health and Care Plan.
Nigel Jupp, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “A consultation is now open and we would welcome hearing from students, parents and carers and anyone else with an interest in transport for young people to help us with this year’s Post-16 Transport Policy Statement.”
The consultation aims to make sure the information in the Policy Statement is up to date and complete.
The consultation is now open and available on our website for people to take part and runs until Sunday 25 April 2021. If you require the consultation in an alternative format, please email Post16Travel@westsussex.gov.uk or phone 01243 777 100.
All responses will be considered before the council’s Post-16 Transport Policy statement is published at the end of May.
