Scrutiny committees go virtual this week

Meetings will now take place virtually, people can watch them live on our website

Released: 28 September 2021

Three Scrutiny committees are taking place at West Sussex County Council this week, all will be held virtually.

We have moved some council meetings back online to reduce the amount of travel by car undertaken by committee members while the current fuel situation continues. All committees can be viewed on the council’s webcast service - links are provided in the agendas.

This follows a call from Leader of West Sussex County Council for everyone to use only the fuel they need and to not change usual petrol buying patterns.

Paul Marshall said: “I know it can be unsettling when we see people queuing for fuel, but the government has been quite clear that there is no shortage of fuel and there is plenty to go around. We can look after our communities if we all play our part and only use what we need.”
