You don't have to be young to enjoy colouring-in! And now you can colour with companions at new sessions held at Goring Library.
Adult colouring-in books have seen a massive surge in popularity over the last year.
Colouring is recognised as being beneficial to adults in reducing stress and anxiety levels.
Psychologists say that this gentle activity where you choose the colours to create your picture and the repetitive action of colouring it in focuses the brain on the present, blocking out any intrusive thoughts.
The activity generates a sense of wellbeing and peace whilst stimulating other areas of the brain – including our sense of creativity.
Relax with Colouring is coming to Goring Library in February with fortnightly colouring-in sessions being offered free of charge for adults to reduce stress and be creative.
Colouring sheets, pens and pencils will be provided, or participants are welcome to bring their own colouring projects with them.
If you’re interested in joining the colouring craze, the fortnightly sessions at Goring Library launch on Wednesday 3 February from 10.30am-12noon.
