Plan your different journey options with

Car, bus, cycle, walk, train, car-share and car club journey information all in once place on the web for the first time.

A new on-line journey planner for West Sussex has been launched by the County Council. calculates routes for car, bus, rail, bike and by foot, using real-time public transport information.

At the same time it provides data on estimated journey times, how many calories you will burn travelling and how much carbon emissions you will produce – all on one screen.

If you are considering different combinations of transport, such as cycling and rail or by bus and walking, it calculates that for you.

If your start point is within cycling distance of a train station the website will automatically plan a combined journey to consider.

It also suggests potential car share matches you can make, which you can arrange by clicking through to features every location of car club sites in the area.
At these locations you can hire a car on pay-as-you-go basis from just £4.50 per hour and 13p per mile, which in many cases is more cost effective than owning a car.

County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, John O'Brien said: " is a useful tool when you are considering which method of transport you want to choose.

“For the first time you can consider car sharing along with all your other travel options.

“It is mobile friendly and adapts the way it is displayed depending on the device you use.” is based on OpenStreetMap software.

This lets users add features to the map to improve the information available.

Organisations in West Sussex can also add widgets to their internet or intranet pages if they wish.
