Release date: 20 May 2022
The next full council meeting of West Sussex County Council will be held from 10.30am on Friday 27 May at County Hall, Chichester, with the meeting also being webcast live via the county council website.
In addition to the usual time for councillors to ask questions of the Council’s leader and cabinet on matters of current interest across the county there are three subjects for debate by councillors:
- The first is about the impact of constraints on planning proposals and new developments where they affect the water table in protected sites in the Arun Valley (‘water neutrality’).
- The second is a call for the council’s pensions committee to review its strategy on fossil fuel investments.
- The third is about calls for a fixed annual charge on the tobacco industry to help meet the costs of the damage their products cause and help fund smoking reduction services and other tobacco control activities.
The full agenda is now available and the meeting can be watched live via the public i.tv portal.
There will be a limited-capacity public gallery available to anyone wishing to attend and view the meeting in person.
Admission is by ticket only, bookable in advance by emailing democratic.services@westsussex.gov.uk.
