A History of Britain in 100 dogs will describe dogs’ important place in history.

The talk takes place on Tuesday 1 November from 12.10pm to 12.50pm.

From herding livestock to guiding the visually impaired, our loyal companions have stood by us, searched for us and worked with the authorities to sniff out criminal activity.

The talk will be given by local student, Emma White, who is currently studying for a doctorate in the use of dogs in the First World War.

No booking is necessary but please arrive early to avoid disappointment. For further information please contact Worthing Library, Richmond Road, Worthing BN11 1HD on 01903 704809 or email worthing.library@westsussex.gov.uk.

The talk is the latest in the popular series of lunchtime talks. Each talk is on the last Thursday of the month.
