'Lubrication in Moderation' - on the trail of Ye Ancient Order of Frothblowers in West Sussex

Tuesday Talk is back on 26 November at the West Sussex Record Office, Chichester.

This month the subject is ‘Ye Ancient Order of Froth Blowers’ (AOFB), a humorous charitable organisation started by Mr Bert Temple and Sir Alfred Fripp in London.

The illustrated talk by Dr David Muggleton, will look at the rise and fall of the AOFB in West Sussex, its charitable fundraising for deprived and invalid children and beer drinking as a powerful beacon of national identity in the 1920s.

Dr Muggleton is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester and is a member of the West Sussex Archives Society, the British Association for Local History and the British Guild of Beer Writers.

The talk starts at 7pm and tickets are £8 (£7 for current West Sussex Archives Society members), which includes light refreshments.
