Local writers are invited to the launch of a new club at Midhurst library aimed at poetry lovers.

Writers of all abilities are invited to the inaugural event between 2-3.30pm on Wednesday 24 August at Midhurst Library, The Grange, Bepton Road, GU29 9HD.

The Poetry Box Club is a new, free event designed to unite budding writers and give them a friendly environment to practice their creative writing and reading.

Multi award-winning poet Merlynda Robinson will attend the first event to offer advice and techniques on poetry-writing.

Writers will have the chance to share their own poems and learn more about poetry.

The Poetry Box Club will then meet on the first Wednesday of the month between 2-3.30pm – starting from Wednesday 7 September 2016.

Members of the club will be invited to read their work at Merlynda’s Nyewood studio throughout the year.

When the club celebrates its first birthday each member’s best work will be brought together in a new book entitled ‘The Poetry Box Club’s Anthology of Poems’.

The anthology will be available free of charge and will be distributed both locally and nationally.

To book your place call Merlynda on 01730 821030 or email woodlandwordshummingbirds@aol.com.
