Looking for something new and rewarding? Positions are available throughout the county helping children travel safely to school.

West Sussex County Council is looking for drivers and passenger assistants to help deliver our vital school transport service for children travelling to school in rural areas.
We also need people to assist children with special educational needs and disabilities get to and from school.

In readiness for all pupils returning to school from early September following the easing of coronavirus restrictions, the council is expanding its service with extra minibuses and vehicles to help meet an expected increase in demand.

Stuart Collins, Transport Provision Manager, said: “We are looking for people who share our commitment for all students to travel to school safely. The ongoing wellbeing of our staff and customers is paramount. Though children are classed as low-risk, all our vehicles will be deep cleaned in between shifts, with face coverings provided to all staff and hand sanitiser available for all our customers.

“We offer a great package including full training and the chance to work in friendly teams providing great services. The job isn’t just about getting the children from A to B – our staff use their people skills to engage with children and their parents and carers.”
