Free career advice for teenagers

Career inspiration is on offer for young people in Arun following the success of recent skills and jobs fairs.

Release date: 5 April 2018

A total of six Arun Skills and Jobs Fairs have now been held in Bognor and Littlehampton helping people to get access to training or job opportunities.

More recently, though, organisers West Sussex County Council ascertained there was also a more specific need to help young people with career, money and training advice.

So the FindItOut Centre will be opening its doors on Tuesday 24 April from 1.30pm to 4.30pm for young people, parents and carers to be inspired.

Stephen Hillier, County Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “We have already had some great interest in the event from nearby schools that will be bringing students to the event.

“It is specifically aimed at young people who can pop along and find out information on lots of topics including how to get a job, what training is on offer at colleges, building confidence, apprenticeships, emotional support and money advice.”

A range of local employers, training organisations and support services will be on hand at the event to help with young people’s questions.

These include Outset Youth, Skills Training UK, Making Theatres, Chichester College, Chichester University, UK Harvest, Sea cadets and Tag Archery.

The event will take place at Bognor Regis FindItOut Centre in Glamis Street, Bognor Regis.
