East Preston Library celebrates village festival

To celebrate the East Preston Festival, the village library will be holding a coffee morning for adults and a themed children’s story time.

This year’s Festival focuses on children’s book characters. To tie in with this, the library is inviting customers to come for a stroll down memory lane and view a display of children’s books from days gone by. The display will be in the library throughout the Festival which runs from 3 – 12 June.

On Thursday 9 June, there will be a free coffee morning. Customers are invited to come on their own or with a group of friends for a coffee and chat in the library from 10.30am – 12noon.

The regular toddler time session on Friday 10 June will be a special Elmer themed story time and craft activity from 11 – 11.30am. This is a free event.

East Preston Library was visited over 24,000 times last year, and the staff answered almost 300 enquiries from customers and local residents.
The library has two members of staff who know most of the customers by name; they are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers who take books to housebound people, join children to the Summer Reading Challenge and support the weekly Toddler Time sessions.
