Release date: 12 May 2022
There will be some disruption to County Council online services this weekend (13 – 16 May) while essential electrical testing is carried out.
The council’s website will be offline during the scheduled maintenance work which will take place from Friday afternoon until Monday morning.
Details of how to contact council services in the case of an emergency during the outage are available at westsussexcountycouncil.blogspot.com.
There you will also be able to find direct links to other online service websites which will remain available during the weekend, including libraries, highways and Trading Standards.
The work is part of the electrical circuit test of the council’s data centre in Chichester, which takes place every five years. All IT systems based at this location will be shut down as the building will have no power during this time.
It is essential that this electrical testing takes place, but emergency numbers will remain up and running should anyone need to contact a specific council service urgently.
Steps have been taken to minimise any disruption to residents and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause during the weekend.
Any updates will be available on our social media pages, on Twitter and Facebook.
