Contractor appointed to County Buildings, Crawley, partial demolition project

Release date: 24 December 2020

The County Buildings demolition project is a key part of the One Public Estate initiative.

DDS Demolition Ltd has been appointed, subject to West Sussex County Council’s usual call-in period, to progress the partial demolition of the County Buildings site in Crawley. Both the magistrates’ court and Centenary House will remain in situ.

Demolishing the remaining County Buildings will demonstrate commitment to the wider development of the site and provide a much more attractive proposition for prospective developers.

Bob Lanzer, County Council Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “I am pleased to see this site cleared. Many of these buildings have been redundant for a number of years and this demolition is making way for a full site redevelopment which will complement the wider investment for Crawley town centre.”

Demolition will commence early in the New Year.
