Chichester firefighters will be dishing out presents at St Richard’s Hospital as they spread the festive spirit this season, but they need your help!
On December 19, crews will be visiting the wards to meet patients and deliver gifts to those staying in hospital over the Christmas season. However, we are appealing for donations that can be given on the day.
In addition to the appeal, crews will also be ‘pedalling for presents’ on December 2. The event will see firefighters doing a charity bike ride at Chichester Tesco between 10:00-14:00 in a bid to encourage more present donations on the day.
Watch Manager and event organiser, Duncan Warwood, said: “We’re honoured to support such a worthy cause over this festive period.
“Christmas is a time meant for spreading joy and happiness, and we’re asking the local community to help us in doing this. If anyone has any new or unwrapped gifts that they’re willing to donate – the presents can benefit anyone, no matter their age - we’d be extremely grateful and it could help brighten someone’s day.”
To donate your gifts, please call 01243 753440 or drop them off at the Chichester Fire Station directly. Alternatively, email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange collection by Monday 18th December.
