Work to install a new lift, a disabled toilet and refurbishment to the children’s library has commenced at Bognor Regis Library.

The works are expected to last approximately 12 weeks but will not affect the use of the library.

Opening hours will not be affected, although there may be some noise and disruption during the works.

Space in the car park may be limited but spaces for library users with Blue Badges will be maintained.

When completed, access will be improved for library users, with the new lift providing disabled access to meeting rooms on the first floor, the new disabled toilet and tea station.

The refurbishment and relocation of the children’s library will include a new innovative reading space, colourful shelving units and a flexible space for events such as Baby Rhyme Time and Toddler Time.

Bognor Library was originally built in 1964 and underwent a refurbishment in 2005 which saw a ground floor extension but the closing of the first floor.

The installation of the new lift will enable the community to benefit from the full space Bognor Library has to offer.
