All libraries closed on Monday 10 February for IT implementation

All West Sussex libraries will be closed on Monday 10 February.

Release date: 30 January 2020

All West Sussex libraries will be closed on Monday 10 February for the installation of a new staff library computer system.

Whilst the installation is happening the following services will be unavailable:

  • The online catalogue and library app will not be available to search, reserve or renew any items from 10am on Sunday 9 February. They are expected to be up and running again on Tuesday 11 February at midday, however this date/time is subject to change.
  • The telephone renewals line (01243 642110) will not be available during this period.

Please note that no items will be due for renewal on Monday 10 or Tuesday 11 February.

Duncan Crow, Cabinet Member for Fire and Rescue and Communities, said: “We know that the one-day closure of all libraries is not ideal for our residents and we appreciate their patience whilst the works are undertaken.”

All libraries will reopen as usual on Tuesday 11 February, but the public computers will not be available until the new system is up and running.
