Borde Hill Garden is an English Heritage Grade II* garden, set in 200 acres of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with spectacular views over the Sussex Weald and the Ouse Valley Viaduct.

What we do

  • The garden was created in the 1890s by the current owner's great grandfather and plant expedition hunter, Colonel Stephenson Clarke.
  • Thanks to his foresight and hard work, it now boasts a botanically rich and nationally important collection of trees and shrubs.
  • Accessible parking in the main car park and accessible toilets. The majority of the formal garden is accessible to those with restricted mobility.
  • Gentle slopes with hard surfaces allow wheelchair access. A "˜mobility map' is available to show access around the gardens. There are three wheelchairs that can be borrowed, although these are loaned on a first come, first served basis.
