Blue Apple’s Young Company Performing Arts teaches skills to young people with learning disabilities aged 14-21.
The online sessions offer singing, dance and drama.
The group meets on Saturdays online via Zoom during term time each Saturday 11 am to 12 pm.
Each term is 12 weeks with a half-term break.
A first taster session is free.
Cost is £88 per term payable in advance after the taster session for a full term or for a half term.
The sessions are led by a trained performing arts facilitator experienced in working with learning disabled young people.
There is also an experienced volunteer who supports the session. All Blue Apple staff, facilitators and volunteers are DBS checked.

What we do

  • Blue Apple Theatre provides opportunities for learning disabled people to develop performing skills and to present theatre, dance, singing, and film performances to public audiences.
  • Arts activity promotes confidence, building social skills and supporting self-advocacy. Research shows that performing at Blue Apple builds confidence and self-esteem, encourages creative expression, promotes social integration and opportunity for connection.
  • Blue Apple is based in Winchester but our ever-expanding programme of workshop groups and outreach sessions is spread throughout Hampshire, whilst our performers tour throughout the southern counties and appear further afield nationally and internationally.
  • Our weekly sessions provide inclusive spaces for building relationships and fostering social connections, reducing loneliness among our participants.
  • Fees cover the costs of paying a facilitator. Payment for classes can be made via bank transfer. If you cannot afford the fees please contact us to ask about our bursaries. Blue Apple is a registered charity No. 1151078. Our work relies on the support of individuals, organisations and Trusts who generously donate money, time and expertise to enable Blue Apple to thrive.
