After WWI, many public and private funds were set up throughout the country to raise money to commission and erect memorials of one kind or another. These were specifically for those who had died in the war.
This illustrated talk by Paul Devonshire focuses on the sculptured memorials, considering the sentiments and ideas expressed in this art form.
