Glebelands day centre in Shoreham-by-Sea provides a wide range of activities for people who have a physical, sensory or memory impairment and people with an acquired brain injury. The centre is currently seeking a volunteer to work alongside a member of staff, assisting customers with arts and crafts activities.

Details of duties
Supporting customers in arts and crafts activities in our Art Room at the centre alongside a member of staff. We are happy for volunteers to help plan sessions and be as creative as they like but sessions need to be simple, easy to follow and possible to do with a group of people who may have different skills and abilities due to their cognitive and/or physical abilities.
Regularity of duties
This could be either a morning or afternoon session on a weekday. Morning sessions run on weekdays from 10.00am - 12.30pm and afternoon sessions from 2.00pm - 3.30pm.
Guidance and support
A member of staff will be available at all times during the volunteering sessions.
Training and equipment
Volunteers will receive a formal introductory session before beginning their role. Arts and crafts materials will be provided by the centre.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Volunteers will not be required to have a DBS check before undertaking the role.
Volunteers will be required to provide two references before undertaking the role. They will also need to attend a short interview.
