Whiteways Countryside Site is just off the Whiteways roundabout on the A29 and A284 near Bury Hill. Within short walking distance are spectacular views of the South Downs and Sussex Weald.
It includes chalk grassland and a middle bronze-age Cross Dyke designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Places to explore around Whiteways include Fairmile Bottom, Houghton Forest and Rewell Wood.
The Monarch’s Way and South Downs Way can also be accessed via local public rights of way from Whiteways.

Walking
Whiteways can be reached from the nearest village, Houghton (1¼ miles), along the Monarch’s Way bridleway.
By bike
