1 Kettles

Kettles, like other kitchen appliances, can be recycled at your local Household Waste Recycling Site (HWRS).

Appliances such as kettles, toasters, blenders, sandwich makers and microwaves all contain valuable resources which can be easily recycled if you take the appliance to your local HWRS.

Please don't put electrical appliances in your recycling bin at home, these will cause damage to the sorting equipment at Ford Materials Recycling Facility (MRF).

2 Kitchen waste

Please do not put food leftovers in your recycling bin at home. Leftover food and liquid will ruin the quality of the materials put in your recycling bin and can prevent it being recycled, therefore undoing all your good efforts to recycle more.

3 Knives

Knives can be accepted at all Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRS). However, owing to the potential hazard this waste stream poses, please ensure it is adequately wrapped and segregated from other waste before entering a site.

Upon arrival at a site, please hand the item to site staff for safe disposal within the scrap metal bin.
