Here at West Sussex County Council we are ambitious for our children and our workforce. We are committed to improving our services for the children and families we support.
We are looking for social workers to be part of our ambitious improvement plan to help make a significant difference to children and families in West Sussex.
The following video was shown at the annual Children's Social Care Conference 2019 to highlight the importance of relationships between staff and the families they work with.
You will be joining us as at a key time on our improvement journey.
The work we have started
- establishing a new and experienced leadership team driving forward our ‘Children First’ improvement plan
- a supportive alliance with our colleagues at Hampshire County Council as our partner in practice
- a recruitment and retention package that rewards the work and commitment of our social workers and creates a stable workforce in which we can thrive
- the expertise and guidance of our commissioner, John Coughlan, who is overseeing our improvement work and leading the move to a children’s trust.
We've significantly reduced our average caseloads, with most social workers holding fewer cases when compared to our neighbouring authorities.
We don’t underestimate the work that still needs to be done - that’s why we need social workers like you to join our dynamic and supportive teams.Ready to apply? See our current vacancies
