1 Receiving the vaccine
The COVID-19 vaccination programme is led by the NHS.
In Sussex, the programme is coordinated by the Sussex Health and Care Partnership.
COVID-19 remains a serious health risk so stay cautious to help protect yourself and others. It is important to remember that there is still a chance you might get or pass on coronavirus, even after having the vaccine.
Free vaccination appointment transport now available
West Sussex residents who have no means of transport to attend their COVID-19 vaccination appointment will be able to book a free journey to and from their vaccination centre location.
To book free travel please book your vaccination appointment first and then call 01444 275 008 to speak to a travel coordinator. The booking service is available between 10.00am-1.00pm and 2.00pm-5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Once you are through to a travel coordinator you will be asked the following questions:
- Do you have access to transport to attend your vaccine appointment?
- Do you have a family member, friend or carer who can help with transport?
See the Government guidelines around travelling in private cars and other vehicles.
If neither of these options are available, the travel coordinator will arrange transport for you, including any additional needs such as a wheelchair or wheelchair-friendly vehicles.
All transport providers have signed up to a COVID-19 safety policy to ensure that all precautions are in place for a safe journey.
