Debt advice
If you are worried about not being able to pay your bills there are things you can do. If you’re struggling to pay your rent, mortgage or energy bills because of coronavirus, it’s important you don’t ignore them.
Speak to the organisation you owe money to; they might be able to help by letting you pay smaller amounts or take a break. Check with your bank or building society to see what help they can offer. You may also be eligible to claim for benefits.
If you’re worried about heating your home contact Citizens Advice. They may also be able to advise you about financial support.
You can also contact Citizen’s Advice services if you:
- are having difficulties claiming the benefits you’re entitled to
- are having difficulties understanding what you’re eligible for
- have debts that you’re not managing and it’s affecting your mental health.
