How our service has been affected by the pandemic.

Partial re-opening of West Sussex Record Office

The Searchroom partially re-opened on 13 April 2021 and is available for pre-booked appointments only. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there are slots available either in the morning (9.30am-12 noon) or afternoon (2.00pm-4.30pm).

To request an appointment and pre-order documents (up to six items), please email the Record Office. We regret that bookings cannot be made in person or by telephone. For more information, view our Visiting the Record Office page.

In addition, there is a new Archives Card which has replaced the County Archive Research Network (CARN) card. You will need to have an Archives Card to consult original documents in the Searchroom.
