Browsing

Libraries are open for browsing. Please check current opening hours.

Select and collect

We are offering a select and collect service. Our expert staff can put together a selection for you to borrow, Simply complete our online form or phone your local library. We will let you know when your items are ready for collection.

Item reservations

All reservations remain free. You can reserve items directly from the library catalogue and we will let you know when your items are ready for collection.

Online resources

You can join the library online to receive a library card number and PIN which will give you instant access to the eLibrary.

To read books, magazines and newspapers digitally and listen to audiobooks, view our current offer.

If you need help with the eLibrary, please contact us for digital help.

Events and activities

No regular activities are taking place due to government guidelines. This includes services or drop-in sessions offered in libraries by our partners and other agencies.

Adults' activities

We have set up a thriving online reading group on Facebook - West Sussex Libraries Virtual Reading Group. This is a friendly forum for West Sussex borrowers to connect over the pleasure of reading.

'Fully Booked' is our series of book recommendations from staff in the Library Service. You can watch their videos online.

Library staff have been recording songs that are all available online to sing along to for Melody for the Mind.

On Facebook, we have launched a Family Corner. This is a place where the whole family can come together to share stories, sing songs and enjoy all that libraries have to offer.

Home Library Direct

We have set up an Essential Delivery service for our existing Home Library Direct customers and other library customers who are unable to visit library buildings because they are vulnerable or shielding. Visit the Library Catalogue to find out more.

Computer access

Computer sessions are now available.

Contacting us

We will try our best to answer phone calls and emails from our library customers. Please bear in mind that this may not always be possible as staffing may be limited when you contact us.
