How COVID-19 is affecting our Public Rights of Way and Buchan Country Park facilities.

Public Rights of Way

There is no legislation that allows West Sussex County Council to close Public Rights of Way (PRoW) in response to COVID-19. People who choose to use local PRoW for their daily exercise should adhere to government guidelines on accessing the countryside. This includes maintaining social distancing where possible.

Buchan Country Park

We are currently experiencing high numbers of visitors. We ask that you do not travel to Buchan Country Park from outside of the local area, in line with current government guidance. In the afternoon and at weekends, parking spaces may not always be available at these times. Please only park within the marked parking bays. If the car park is full please come back at another time.

The Visitor Centre remains closed at Buchan Country Park. The car park and toilets are open daily from 8.00am-6.00pm. Please read all on site signage about using the toilets and queue responsibly to enable social distancing.
