Youth Cabinet debates ‘votes at 16’ with councillors and MPs

Find out about the Youth Cabinet's view for voting at 16.

 

West Sussex Youth Cabinet members, senior county councillors and MPs debated lowering the voting age to 16 at a lively discussion at County Hall, Chichester on Thursday 6 September.

A vote was then taken, with a resounding victory in favour of the motion to give 16 and 17 year olds the vote: 24 in favour, 8 against and 3 abstentions. You can read more about the debate on our main news page.
